Www.FarmerClaims.gov – Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers Settlement – Claim Package

About $1.3 billion has been set aside by the U.S. government for farmers who were discriminated against for being female or Hispanic. This discrimination was for farm loans. The applications for the farm loans should have been made between 1981 and 2000. You have to fill out a claim form in order to get the compensation. You will want to fill out the claim form for this because you could potentially get anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000 depending on the type of claim and the information that you provide. The deadline for filing the claim form for the Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers Settlement  is March 25, 2013. If you would like to request a claim package, then you will have to fill out the form at the www.farmerclaims.gov site. You will fill in the information on the form and click on Submit. That is if you want to request a claim package.

If you wish to download a claims package instead, you can also do that at the www.farmerclaims.gov site. You can then fill out the claims package and submit it. Again you have to follow the same deadline. You will also be able to figure out whether you can file the claim for another person. For example, if your mother or father are no longer alive, you may be able to file a claim for them. However, make sure that you read all the requirements for you to do this.

Even if you do not have a denial letter, you may still be eligible to take part in the Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers Settlement . So you have to make sure that you take a look at the eligibility criteria. The claims adjudicator will determine if you are eligible. This claims adjudicator is JAMS Inc. Once you have submitted your claim, you will be able to track it. You can do this at the website. In order to do this, you will have to enter the last 4 numbers of your social security number. Then you will have to enter your tracking number. Your tracking number can be found on your Acknowledgement Letter. You will also have to enter your confirmation number. You confirmation number also can be found on your letter. If you did not get the letter, then this means that your claims has not been received yet. You may want to check to make sure that the package was delivered. If not, then you may have to send another copy. So my suggestion to you is that you make copies before you submit your claim form so that in the case where it was not received, you can send another set quickly. It would be extremely frustrating to fill out all the information again. However, even if you did not make any copies, it would still be worth it to take the time to fill it out again. This is because you stand to gain so much money. Do not let that stop you.

If you run into any problems or difficulties, there is a toll free number on the website that you can call. You will be able to reach someone at anytime between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This will be everyday from Monday to Friday. Also this will be Eastern time zone. If you do not fill out the claim form properly or if it is not complete, you will be notified. You will be informed what is needed in order to complete it. You will get this information in the mail. When you receive it, make sure that you provide the correct information that has been requested.

If you do not know how to fill out the form, there is legal help that you can get at the website. What I mean is that there is a link to  where you may be able to get an attorney to help you out. The National Agricultural Law Center will be able to help you out. In this case, there is no Class Counsel because this is actually not a Class Action Lawsuit Settlement. If you speak only Spanish, you can get help too. There is a toll free number that you can call that is provided on the website. There will be someone who can speak Spanish who can help you. You can call the same number for additional information.
